The Seven Years War Association held its annual convention this past weekend at the Waterford Estates Lodge in South Bend, Indiana. There were over thirty events scheduled, not counting pick up games and the presentation by guest of honor Professor Christopher Duffy. Good companions, fine food and drink, and inspiring games make this my favorite wargame weekend of the year. I didn't get photos of every game since I was tied up much of the time running my own events, but this should give you a pretty good idea of what was offered: link |

So Byng won? Did they shoot him anyway?

So Byng won? Did they shoot him anyway? No. He went home a hero, with a French admiral as a guest. His political enemies had nothing with which to gain any traction and he was the toast of London for months afterwards. |

Too bad. They'll just have to wait and shoot Nelson instead. Or maybe Cochrane, he had a lot of political enemies. That ADW game doesn't quite seem to fit the theme… How did that sneak in? - Ix |

The staff can be quite flexible, at times. |

Thank you very much for posting the photos. I'd have loved to be there so the photos make some amends. It all looks so wonderful. |

Truly epic! I was, however, somewhat surprised to see all the young gamesters in attendance. Lots of fresh, young faces. Wish I could have attended. |

Always a great convention! Special kudos for the consistently high standard of armies and terrain, and for the overall friendliness of the event. So glad I could make it this year, and already looking forward to next. |

Hi Jeff, Thank you for the pictorial record and for your own games too. Companionable Event Rating = A++. I was in three games; two of Jurgen's SYW Currycorn INDIA games and one of Jude's using Age of Reason. Tremendous fun and moreover a healthy change of pace from routines. Cheers and Bravos, Bill P. |

Jeff (or anyone!), in the first pic of a naval game with 1/1200 (with the island/lighthouse) what manufacturer's ships are they, Langton? (PM also sent) |

(PM answered) That info was in the caption. For anyone who wasn't aware, instead of just scrolling down the album's page, you can click on a picture and get a slide show format with extra viewing and downloading options, as well as descriptive captions below. |

What? No zombies? No martians? Obviously, this is a deeply flawed event. Discuss…. |

I don't like the phrase 'bucket list', but this certainly would make it. Thanks for the great photos and allowing us to be there in spirit at least. Truly a gentleman/woman's convention! |
