Hello everyone, Here is a link to my video covering the results of Turn 2 of my group's Age of Reason campaign game. Prussia continues to advance against Austria while moving into Poland. England and France work on dividing India, Russia makes a big announcement, and Sweden and the Ottomans continue to play coy. youtu.be/Bf3mnkz_oEE |

Interesting. I don't get what France is doing though? It seems to be France's traditional enemy is the Hapsburgs and now that the Austrians are busy with Prussia this would be the time to pressure them not help them by threatening war on Prussia. |

It seems as though the alliances are generally falling along the "7YW" line: France and Austria are coordinating together, along with Russia. The hope was that France would declaring war on Prussia at the same time as Russia to basically force England into it—the English player seems to be hyper-conservative about play, more concerned about how much money it would take to replace losses, rather than just getting involved in the game—which we think is lame, so we basically have to pick a fight to get him involved. Sweden is playing coy—which they pretty much have to do, but I think they're going to fall on the side of England. Turkey is a wild card: the player is young and new to this game and time period (but is a ruthless and wiley Axis and Allies player). I think his moves are based on not knowing what he, as turkey, is supposed to do. Either that, or it is an act of pure genius. |

The key to winning SoK is to take new territory and take it fast, because the territories generate new strength points (SPs)that allow you to build armies. For example, Britain should cede Hanover and concentrate on building territorial gains in India and North America. Since the French are the only other country with a navy, no other country can threaten Britain's (or France's) SP in the colonies. |

I know. We are all shaking our heads at England's unwillingness to get into any battles. I mean, the whole point of the game is to fight miniature battles. |
