The Japanese started rearming about 3 years before the US. By late 1941 they had upgraded there fleet, had combat experienced soldiers/airman and had just finished upgrading their airforce. The United States was rearming but it wasn't until mid 1943 that the new ships, planes and trained solders were ready in numbers.Unless the Japanese could win in 1942 they were going to lose. I just ordered the book and will see if the author ignores the production and logistics problems that Japan faced. |

gamershs…there are individual "what if" chapters written by many ecperts in their fields, including Gisby (though methinks his chapter on the Indian front is the one most lacking in drama). Most of Tsouras's books have been quite well received. |
