So how do they measure up compared to Perry. I have painted Perry. But i prefer my Americans in firing line. And the militia do look good on pictures |

I believe they match up well with Perrys. WGF sculpts are very nice & go together well. |

Dreadful, can't get those shoulders out of my mind. |

Some sculpts do seem a bit "shouldery", but they generally look good assembled. I find that compared to the Perrys, the relief on the sculpts is somewhat lower, making them a bit harder to paint. I've mixed the WL hunting shirt militia with Perry plastic hunting shirt sculpts to create a rifle unit. They look good to me. |

Dreadful, can't get those shoulders out of my mind. Sounds like some of the women I've dated. |

ROTFLMAO +1 Who asked this joker. Hey didn't the deep voice and rather largish hands give you an idea :) |

I'm starting to paint/assemble WGF/WL plastic Continental figs (having primed, and started painting the prime/base colors). I have painted several boxes of the Perry's plastic fig, both British & Contnental. One of the things I do not like about the WGF/WL plastic figs is the increased complexity. By this I mean the fact that the cocked hats come in multiple pieces which require my larger but less dexterous fingers (from my model building youth) to assemble. These hat parts are very small and I'll have to ammend the way I paint/assemble which, to this point, works fine with the Perry's. When ALL these plastic figures came out there were those on this list that didn't like it as it introduced the issue of having to assemble your figures in addition to painting them. I didn't buy into that line of thinking then, but I'm starting to now. Painting these plastic figs has made my painting of metal figs better. Additionally, an added benefit of metal figs is I don't have to fix the broken figs that inevitably happen after every game. |

they are a bit of a pain to assemble, but the firing and loading poses look good. the marching guys look off to me on account of those large, slumped shoulders. but the price is low enough that I just don't use those guys. overall, I like them, have them, and use them. I like perry more, and I mix them all together with foundry, OG second edition and fife and drum. not usually the same units, as the wgf guys are tall, but a few mixed here and there isn't a problem. I plan on getting a bunch of their hessians soon, because in the the end, they are good enough for the price. |

Look for yourself. These are WGF TMP link I like the WGF better than the Perry figures strictly because I have no use for marching figures. I like shooting and attacking poses. Just my personal taste.

Can you make the entire box firing line? |

The WGF/WL figures are more robust than the Perrys. Whether the difference is enough so you wouldn't mix figures is a matter of personal opinion. I use both on the same table, but aside from command figures try not to mix them. On the British the biggest problem mixing them (aside from pose differences) is that the WGF/WL are in warrant uniforms. Most but not all of the WGF/WL privates in each set would be appropriate for firing lines. You have walking figures in both the Militia and the Continental light infantry, and IIRC one of the WGF/WL grenadier poses is charging. No knowledge on the Hessians. |

I wasn't planning on on using warlord British. Only American and hessian. And arty. I'll use plastic and metal Perry for the British (tho the metal molds are getting old.) |

I like the WGF/WL plastic Continental Militia and Woodland Indian Box sets. I have nt bought either of their other boxes as I want to do Conquest Miniatures French figures. The idea was start on the cheaer plastics that are more versatile as can be used for a variety of units, practice my painting and then move onto the metal French regular troops afterwards. Narratively also fitted better starting with smaller games of militia troops before expanding to larger games with Regulars as well. |
