Big as in size. Say, was the biggest 5,000 troops, or 10,000 troops, ect? They mostly seem to have been smaller than that, but I wanted to get a a sense of the larger end of the scale. . |

I surmise 2-3,000 might be reasonable for a large band, I guess it varied a lot dependent on the finances of the company, and whether action was likely, and the fame of the captain. Certainly, states in Italy could hire several companies to act together in concert. |
