Has anyone tried these rules from Capitan Games. If so how do you rate them and are they suitable for 28mm figures?

What would possibly make a set of rules unsuitable for 28s?

"What would possibly make a set of rules unsuitable for 28s?"

All rule sets, that have a very high troop scale are often unsuitable for 28mm. At least they will lokk silly. If you scale the rules up, tha table will often not work.

Napoleons Battles for example. Used as is, one base would have one 28mm model. A brigade with 4 models look stupid. Scaled up you needed a table with a depth of 3 metre, not practical.

Command Decision with three to five tank bataillons of nine tanks. Not really doable in 28mm.

I have these rules but haven't played them yet. They do recommend using Napoleons Battles basing.

No reason why 4 figures can't represent a brigade.
After all, one DBA base represents 1000 men, and lots of people seem happy with that.

Hi Dale:

We don't exactly "recommend" Napoleon's Battles basing but certainly the rules will work perfectly well for that convention. We suggest in the rules that you can use NB basing but, as long as both sides are based the same, the rules should work with almost any basing convention. My own armies are 15 mm and based for my club rules but they were used in the play-testing of Divisional Commander.

Cheers,
