Do you have a preference regarding the material a slottabase is made from?

thorr66628 Mar 2016 12:18 p.m. PST

Plastic

MajorB28 Mar 2016 12:29 p.m. PST

Plastic. Never seen any made from anything else.

Vigilant28 Mar 2016 12:34 p.m. PST

I use my own plaster cast ones because they have texture built in – cobblestones, paving stones etc – rather than using plain ones an d having texture them.

Plastic (multiple) and wood (Litko) is what I have seen – not that I use the plastic ones, have lots of them bagged up for trash – but, out of curiosity, who makes metal slottabases?

Might learn something new today…

Slotta bases should be banned.

The Beast Rampant28 Mar 2016 1:12 p.m. PST

The ubiquitous plastic, if I must.

But most I "peg" and mount to scenic resin, or affix "cast-on" style brackets, and glue to wood. Litko rules.

but, out of curiosity, who makes metal slottabases?

Reaper's Warlord minis used to come that way. Other than that, I have no idea.

Eureka has them: link

I'm not sure of the material on their other bases, might be metal or plastic… link

Ral Partha Europe also makes metal hex and round slotted bases.

Slotta bases are the devil's tool.
No habla.
Heresy!

Most of my figures, of the type needing slotted bases, are on plastic. However I have a number on (Litko) wooden bases as well as a number on metal bases. I make (cast) my own metal (slotted) bases. I also have a number of (slotted) bases I cast in resin (I like these the least).

@Mute .. If you would rather send them to me than the trash, I'd be happy to take them.

BelgianRay29 Mar 2016 11:21 a.m. PST

CeruLucifus31 Mar 2016 9:08 p.m. PST

Mute Bystander04 Apr 2016 7:39 a.m. PST

Flashman 14 – fortunately I missed a few at the last trash pickup or there would be more but consider it done, please send address to me (I will look for PM unless you tell me you need e-mail.)

I'll take any that Flashman doesn't want.
