I just completed my first 15mm ancients project this past Autumn, using Splintered Light Romano-Britons and Saxons for Dux Britanniarum. The approach I took was to use 12-14 foot or 7-9 mounted figures on a 60mm frontage base for a mini-diorama look, and I'm very happy with the result. Now I want to expand "backwards" to the barbarian invasions of the 3rd and 4th centuries. The various Roman and barbarian lines from Legio Heroica, Khurasan, and Lurkio have caught my eye, but I don't know how well they might mix on a single base. Any opinions? Legio Heroica link Khurasan link Lurkio link Cheers, Christopher |

Lurkio are smallish. Legio horse is larger then Khurasan. I think Khurasan and Legio foot are reasonably compatible (Legio might be slightly larger). |

I would not mix Lurkio with Legio Heroica. Mix Lurkio with Donnington instead. I love Legio Heroica and use them exclusively for my mediėval and 1670 era armies. However, if you chose Legio Heroica for Rome and Barbarians you may want to look at Demonworld Miniatures, the Warlords of Thain lists which would work well for barbarians. |

Thanks guys – I hadn't realized that LH was on the larger end (maybe comparable to Splintered Light?), and it's good to know that Lurkio is smaller and might not mix well. Too bad, as they look like excellent figures. Cheers, Christopher |
