Well it looks like I got bugged last time so we'll try again. Well I've finally managed to get some more paint sploshed on my birds, it's slow going but we'll get there one day. Looking forward to trying to weather them, any advice gladly received. More here link |

Good start. I am just in the beginning phase of painting some birds for N Africa, but other than getting close to the color schemes desired, the main thing I want is consistency between the aircraft so the table looks more homogenous based upon nationality…it is a raid scenario on a DAK/Italian installation with 8 Axis aircraft. So my advice is don't worry if a little dark, as long as each matches the theme you want. |

Thanks guys. Didn't know whether to go down the weathering powder route or not. Condotta, how weird part of the reason I'm painting up NA birds is for the same sort of thing but the other way around. Thinking Tomahawks, Hurricanes, Beaufighters and a Dakota. Then I'll go for the Axis planes to do a reverse scenario. |

Andy, that's cool. I'll share the targets when built. I have one built and eight to go. I have a Bf109 ready. Others include Junkers JU-188, Henschel HS 129, Junkers Stuka, Storch, 2xSavoia-Marchetti S.M.79 tri-engine bombers, Italics an BR 20 Cicogna twin-engine bomber, and Macchi M.C. Folgore fighter. DAK will have armoured cars, hmg pits, 20mm position and other surprises to thwart a quick hit and run by the LRDG, such as real and decoy minefields, wire and a few squads of Italian and German infantry. Have everything assembled, gaming mat and desert terrain, including village that will spew forth more DAK. |
