As the title states has anyone seen, read, heard or otherwise have knowledge as to whether the reboot of Blood Bowl, Warmaster, Battle Fleet Gothic, Epic and other great brands will see the light of day again? |
15mm and 28mm Fanatik | 23 Mar 2016 10:41 a.m. PST |
Blood Bowl with a slew of awesome new minis is due out next year: link
Can't wait! No updates on the other titles yet, but I'm sure that will change in due course. |
kallman | 23 Mar 2016 10:51 a.m. PST |
Yep, I will have to get the reboot especially if it is as good as the old game was. Hopefully they will reboot all the old racial teams, as in Skaven, Chaos, Dwarves, Elves, Undead, Chaos Dwarves (maybe???) was there ever a Lizardman team? |

Lost Patrol box, board pieces, and minis were just shown at GAMA. It's described as being a new game, not just a reprint. |

Surely Blood bowel can't exist anymore since the AOS reboot…. |
john lacour | 23 Mar 2016 12:53 p.m. PST |
My son and I counted my Blood Bowl/Fantasy Football figures about a week ago. 1452 Figures. Keep in mind, I only collect player figures, not SideLine staff(coaches, cheerleader etc). I have about 60 Big Guys…Don't tell the wife. I for one, can't wait to ad to my collection of BB figures. |

I would *love* to see a reboot of Warmaster and Battlefleet Gothic, but I'm not holding my breath… We are talking about Games Workshop after all. If anyone at GW is reading this post, YES, I will buy a boat-load of new Warmaster and BattleFleet Gothic stuff, IF you release it. |
nazrat | 23 Mar 2016 1:35 p.m. PST |
I am trying to remain positive about what might be released, but it's hard with the number of negative posts I have seen along the way. I understand but I'd rather hope for a return to Specialty greatness than despair of it's return/non-return in whatever form… |
Doctor X | 23 Mar 2016 2:32 p.m. PST |
Sadly, I'm guessing Mordheim would be about the last they'd do as it doesn't go with the current AoS themed fantasy they are pursuing. |
Pictors Studio | 23 Mar 2016 2:42 p.m. PST |
"Surely Blood bowel can't exist anymore since the AOS reboot…." Why not? |
Achtung Minen | 23 Mar 2016 2:56 p.m. PST |
I hear they are going to reboot Fantasy Battle. |
kallman | 23 Mar 2016 3:39 p.m. PST |
As Pictors stated, "why not?" After all you can now play either 40K or 30K and I know a few people who are doing all their forces as 30K armies. Why could you not continue to play games set before the AoS in the Warhammer world? How about parallel universes? Or why does AoS have to considered at all where Blood Bowl is concerned. As to whether the reboot of specialist games will be good or not I think you can just look to what GW has rebooted so far as in Space Hulk and the recent Deathwatch Overkill. I think we will just have to wait and see and yes I will pony up for new stuff for Warmaster and Battle Fleet Gothic. If the rumors are true Epic may, repeat may be done in 15mm. If that is the way GW reboots Epic I will have to find a way to sell a kidney because I would be all over seeing Epic in 15mm. Of course I would be happy with it staying 6mm as well. |
john lacour | 23 Mar 2016 3:46 p.m. PST |
Where was it said(or even "rumors") that Epic would be redone in 15mm? You're way off, Kallman. |
PiersBrand | 23 Mar 2016 4:18 p.m. PST |
Mordheim didn't fit with the old fantasy background as it was set several hundred years before the, at the time, current history. So don't see that being an issue… |
Prince Rupert of the Rhine | 23 Mar 2016 4:55 p.m. PST |
Games workshop spent a lot of time destroying the old Warhammer world can't see them being to keen on going back. Any new blood bowl would surely be set in the new AOS verse which would change the whole thing somewhat for me. I can't see them doing a warmaster or Man O'war game set in the old verse either. Not sure how much mileage games workshop would see in Epic either seeing as current 40K is pretty much epic these days with all the Baneblades, Stompers and stuff. |
Tony S | 23 Mar 2016 5:05 p.m. PST |
Where was it said(or even "rumors") that Epic would be redone in 15mm? I actually heard it was going to be 10mm. link Kind of makes sense. GW would prefer that we not use our existing 6mm armies, and 10mm is such a rare SF scale, that it would be difficult to find GW proxy models. |
Mithmee | 23 Mar 2016 6:00 p.m. PST |
Hopefully they will reboot all the old racial teams, as in Skaven, Chaos, Dwarves, Elves, Undead, Chaos Dwarves (maybe???) was there ever a Lizardman team? Yes but at what cost? $120 USD – $150 USD for 12 or so figures means I will not buy anything. |
Mithmee | 23 Mar 2016 6:01 p.m. PST |
For EPIC either 10mm or 15mm will effectively destroy the old EPIC game. But that is what GW is very good at doing. |
Mithmee | 23 Mar 2016 6:06 p.m. PST |
why does AoS have to considered at all where Blood Bowl is concerned. Because GW has killed off WFB and when they kill something off it stays dead. Just ask the Squats, who by the way would more than likely not be in any reboot of EPIC. I will just stay with my 6mm EPIC since I have large armies for: Space Marines Imperial Guard Orks Squats Eldar So they could reboot it and I would care less about it. |
Dragon Gunner | 23 Mar 2016 6:39 p.m. PST |
I am looking forward to the reboot of Epic, BFG and Necromunda. If the new Epic stuff is sufficiently cool in 10mm /15mm I might have a massive dumping of 6mm stuff on EBAY. Time will tell in the mean time I have put a halt to my buying of EPIC 6mm on EBAY and switched to a couple other projects… I wish GW would show some of their work in progress! I really wish they would give a time frame for new releases. |
Doctor X | 23 Mar 2016 9:16 p.m. PST |
Prince, you make more supporting points to my observation. Piers, I hope you are right. Mordheim is probably my favorite game. |
Bob Runnicles | 24 Mar 2016 9:39 a.m. PST |
"Kind of makes sense. GW would prefer that we not use our existing 6mm armies, and 10mm is such a rare SF scale, that it would be difficult to find GW proxy models." It's not that rare any more, Dropzone Commander is 10mm scale and so is Firestorm Armada: Planetfall. |
john lacour | 24 Mar 2016 2:59 p.m. PST |
As to Blood Bowl having to be "inline" With the aortion that is AO$, that won't have anything to do with BB. Blood Bowl was not set in the "old world" of Warhammer fantasy. I was its own setting. They(games workshop)made this very clear many times. |
Mithmee | 24 Mar 2016 4:36 p.m. PST |
Also some of those Mech Warrior miniatures would fit in a 10mm world. |
Pizzagrenadier | 24 Mar 2016 9:28 p.m. PST |
Necromunda and Battlefleet Gothic are the two I'm really hoping to see. Especially the possibilities of Necromunda terrain. They've already previewed Blood Bowl and it doesn't look like it's been AoS updated. I get the impression they'll be sticking to the original themes and styles with Specialist Games (in substance if not necessarily in rules). It seems like that's the whole purpose of the project in the first place. |
PapaSync | 25 Mar 2016 12:20 p.m. PST |
Lost Patrol is a reboot of their old 1991 spinoff of Space Hulk called Ultramarine, which I still have. That same year they also came out with Kerunch which was a Blood Bowl spinoff. Along with Space Fleet (BFG) and Mighty Warriors was from Mighty Armies. I guess they were suppose to be intro games that never really took off unless you were all ready into GW. The Ultramarine box cover was the same as the cover on the original Rogue Trader book. It had the exact same tiles as SH only made from a cheaper cardboard. Played very different from SH. And it was 4 squads of scouts vs Genestealers. link link link link |
YogiBearMinis | 26 Mar 2016 10:30 a.m. PST |
If they rebooted Warmaster it might be 6mm rather than reissuing in 10mm, in line with the above poster's comments about Epic changing scales. |
Shadowcat20 | 26 Mar 2016 5:32 p.m. PST |
Still have a bunch of Warmaster armies…would be very upset if they changed mini scales. Also hope they redo BFG as I have huge fleets and have been watching the computer version of it. Am just afraid they will not be able to resist trashing everything so you have to buy new. I refuse to go that route so would not even look twice then. Depends on greed vs supporting older games I guess. |
Royal Liz | 30 Mar 2016 1:33 p.m. PST |
I missed Warmaster the first time around. From what I've heard it sounds like a great game. If they come out with it again I will definitely be interested. |
Mithmee | 30 Mar 2016 1:40 p.m. PST |
It did have some issues though. |
TheGaffer | 01 Apr 2016 10:47 a.m. PST |
Seems BFG prices are slipping on eBay…(yay) |
Pictors Studio | 07 Apr 2016 7:04 a.m. PST |
"Still have a bunch of Warmaster armies…would be very upset if they changed mini scales." Why would it matter to you? I'm not trying to be difficult but I have a bunch of Warmaster armies too. If they change the scale I probably won't buy into a new scale but I won't be very upset, I already have my armies, as it seems you do too. |
nazrat | 07 Apr 2016 12:27 p.m. PST |
Yep. Me too! Aside from my Empire, Dwarf, and Khemri armies I still have an entire Kislevite force I got in the blisters from an ex-GW employee years ago waiting to be assembled. |
Pictors Studio | 07 Apr 2016 9:59 p.m. PST |
I have a Kislev force and a whole additional one waiting to be painted. I also have Dark Elves and Lizardmen waiting to be painted too. Finished ones, I have chaos, orcs, empire, high elves and the Kislevites mentioned above. I also have an Ogre Kingdoms army I made with 15mm orcs. |
wehrmacht | 22 Apr 2016 12:44 p.m. PST |
Nice find there PapaSync. I don't remember "Ultramarine" and I've been around since *ahem* RT days… The Ultramarine box cover was the same as the cover on the original Rogue Trader book. Not exactly… the RT book featured Crimson Fists and a different image.

IIRC there was a single Genestealer event card in Ultramarines, it was primarily a game of Space Marine Scout squads inexplicably fighting eachother to the death to recover loot. Lost Patrol is an update of a mini-game from 2000 pitting a single squad of scouts vs a jungle full of concealed aliens: link |
