Anyone participating in a fantasy wargaming campaign currently, and want to talk about it? |

We just finished an 8 week Kings of War escalation league. I hadn't participated in one before, and with a few exceptions had a good time. It got me out of the house, away from work, and into the local game-shop, where I met some new people, and have the core of a gaming group. Most of the other guys are moving on to another game next week, while I am hoping to get a small Frostgrave campaign started. |

We are hoping to start a Frostgrave campaign on the miniatures side. On the RPG side, I run an on again-off again 0e D&D game wirh my kids, featuring an Irish-themed Celtic setting. The Fomorians are the initial bad guys, they rule the world from their island castles with an iron fist. Lately they have been showing weakness, which allows the PCs to eventually defeat them. However, the Fomorians were also keeping the Sidhe from invading, and so once the Fomorian power is broken, the Sidhe will invade, which is ten times worse. Kind of like when you take out the Mafia, and then the Cartels move in. |

Running and playing in a Frostgrave campaign currently. On the plus side, it has gotten a lot of unpainted fantasy miniatures and terrain on the table again. It is also a lot of fun. On the downside, single D20 rolls cause a lot of variation and suitably random things happening. The 'control' gamers hate the game for that reason. Personally, I'm just looking for fun, so I find the variation hilarious. For example, one of our players has a ranger named 'Pincushion Magoo' because the figure continuously misses attack rolls, and rolls very low on defense rolls against shooting. |

Currently running a Dragon Rampant campaign based on a very heavily modified version of the campaign rules in the old Warhammer Ancient Battles rules. Link to the rules here: link 13 players involved, 22 games played, all going well so far :) Players motivated to dig out old miniatures are give them a few battles, plus people buying new figures as well. Quite a few 'tweaks' needed to help provide game balance. |
