Like many of you I am both upset and angry over, what seems to be, an increasing amount of troll attacks on TMP Obviously we have to do something about it. I would suggest that we totally limit the amount of free publicity and attention that the trolls strive for If they get no reaction they will go away. The many threads and hundreds of posts commenting on the troll is what gives them purposes and duration Although it may be difficult, for some of us ,we should no longer post or comment on any troll attack. If we find one or a photobomb , we should PM Bill or use the complaint button. Bill will take the necessary action to delete the post and ban the poster if necessary . Again no reasons or explanatory posts are required. Failing to get a reaction will cause the troll to dry up and blow away. |

Well put,Toronto, and I'll be first to admit error in that regard. I will say that as a TMP noob, the attack of about a week ago was the first incident I'd encountered here, and came as a shock. Also, one of my responses was to a poster who was unaware of the mass nature of the attack, and thought it was targeted at him personally. That said,I'll take your suggestion as a guide, and try to control myself in the future. At least,as much as is possible for a blabbermouth like me… |

Are we sure they're not bots? |

I have hit the complain button with a heads up to Bill, but have resisted adding my comment on-line. Let them be unnoticed. |

It just comes in waves. It quiets for awhile then BOOM they come back. Some are just the same person creating multiple accounts. Robert |

Failing to get a reaction will cause the troll to dry up and blow away. Or, at least, confine comments to the Lounge, which most trolls lack access to. Are we sure they're not bots? It is most several trolls, one of which uses a bot sometimes. The trolls seem to me to be ex-TMPers, based on what they post and the PMs they send to me. Some are just the same person creating multiple accounts. Probably one in the NYC area, one in Toronto, and one in the U.K. |
