Sad news. Real action is required before anyone else suffers this horror.

Internment of the enemy within. Just as the US interned Japanese and Germans during the second world war in the interests of national security.

Hope all our friends and acquaintances in Belgium are OK today. Our thoughts are with those who lost someone.

I am planning to be in Belgium later this year with friends.

Am I still going?

Hell Yeah!

foxweasel22 Mar 2016 6:23 a.m. PST

A sad day, no politics just thoughts with Belgium.

Col Durnford22 Mar 2016 6:50 a.m. PST

Thoughts and prayers for the innocent lives lost.

Old Wolfman22 Mar 2016 6:53 a.m. PST

This is the place I first learned of it. Sincerest prayers and condolences to our friends in Belgium.

All because the Belgian police did the right thing, chasing down the bad guy. RIP to all those who lost their lives. Prayers to the families who's loved ones were lost or injured in this cowardly attack.

I think it was going to happen no matter what. The arrest just moved the time line up. My prayers are with the Belgian people.

Ragbones22 Mar 2016 7:32 a.m. PST

Today we are all Belgian. My prayers for those killed and wounded; and for their loved ones. To Belgian people and authorities: stay strong and resolute. You are not alone.

I, too, stand with our Belgian friends!

The perpetrators are EVIL and cruel. They claim to be serving God, they are not.

Yesthatphil22 Mar 2016 11:10 a.m. PST

Today we are one with Belgium

Today has just been another awful day in Europe. I pray that those bereaved and wounded find comfort and justice.

zippyfusenet22 Mar 2016 7:27 p.m. PST

No disrespect intended, but we need more than thoughts and prayers after Charlie Hebdo, Paris 2, San Bernadino, Istanbul, Berute, and Brussels ( and all the other ISIS terrorist attacks around the world).

I know that everyone means well and that there is little that we can do as individuals, but I am getting tired of endless terrorists attacks on innocent civilians followed by the inevitable "thoughts and prayers" posts. We need more.

We have to do more than just "stand with you". We need a realistic plan to eradicate this cancer and achieve tangible results.

DeRuyter23 Mar 2016 9:51 a.m. PST

I was at that Metro stop this summer. Chilling when you recognize the location of the bombing.

FG: Well they caught the mastermind of the Paris attacks, just sayn.

To First Brigade: That is the sort of narrow-mindedness that will only lead to a worsening of the problem. Yeah let's just make it easier for IS to radicalize them good idea.

I chose to read FB's post as dryly ironic. The alternative would be too terrible to contemplate.

Agree totally Frederick…

"Internment of the enemy within. Just as the US interned Japanese and Germans during the second world war in the interests of national security."

Right… because further alienating sections of our communities that already feel marginalised will definitely make things better.

Just like drone strikes on wedding parties and journalists, bombing raids on hospitals and supplying advanced weaponry to repressive regimes brutalising their own population.

Just waiting for the usual suspects to recommend turning the middle east into a sheet of radioactive glass (except Israel) –

"Cooler – 28 days!"

Internment of the enemy within. Just as the US interned Japanese and Germans during the second world war in the interests of national security.

Do this, and we have already lost. By changing the notion that "All men are created equal" or "Innocent until proven guilty" goes against our core beliefs. It wasn't a good idea in WW2 and it isn't now. OBTW, the Germans were never interned by the US. I guess they looked enough like other (white) citizens that people were more comfortable with them running about.

alexjones24 Mar 2016 2:14 p.m. PST

Who asked this Joker, ok scratch that, lets just change our facebooks to the Belguim flag instead and wait like livestock for the next slaughter.

demiurgex25 Mar 2016 1:11 p.m. PST

I have several dear friends that are Muslim. If you come after them, you'll have to come through me. No, they are neither terrorists nor support terrorist activity. Most victims of fundamentalist Muslim terrorists are other Muslims.

It's easy to get angry and lash out and make things worse. It's harder to do the right thing even when it goes against your tribal instincts.

alexjones25 Mar 2016 2:02 p.m. PST

Is that directed at me? What the hell are you talking about?

Go back to sleep , you are missing the point completely.

coolyork25 Mar 2016 8:01 p.m. PST

OK Lets get back on track or not at all . This was just a sentiment of support for the victims of this attack and not a "fix the world " competition . Many thanks for your comments . Mark

alexjones26 Mar 2016 1:55 a.m. PST
