Team yankee campaign.
played a battle at showcase comics yesterday. the Russian 52nd shock army versus Ukraine defense forces. lasted 5 rounds. i need to talk to captain Gregory about his chicken retreating BMP vehicles after turn two.
even though we protected the Ukrainian border with distinction. inflicted 90% casualties. we were forced to withdraw.
next battle will be the road to Sumry. we will hold at all costs.
i could use a better map if anybody has one of ukraine

Did you mean Sumy, in the north east?

If you are heading from Sumy to Yalta… well I wouldn't start from there :-) I'd go with Mako's land bridge concept and push on along the coast from Mariupol, trying to draw a line from Mariupol to Zaporozhiya, and everything south of there, relying on teh river/lakes to give a natural north western border (but it's a massive amount of territory to try and control).

It's not "my" land-bridge concept, but Putin's, though I do appreciate the attribution, Geoff.

Seems like that'd be faster, and less expensive than building a bridge over the water to there.

Wish someone would produce some 1/144th scale BMDs to make gaming this possible for me, until I can afford a similar force in 1/100th scale.

I'm not sure Putin has ever suggested it, but you have :-)
