I'm sure this company is already well-known on the boards, but it's worth another mention.

Avatars of War make miniatures that in my opinion are every bit as good as GW's miniatures in detail and crispness. Even better, they have boxed regiments that are less than half the price of GW.

This one is a great alternative to use for GW Dwarf Hammerers. You get 20 minis for $40 USD vs. paying $50 USD for only 10 GW Hammerers:

Yes, the only way to let GW know the depth of their error is to release comparable figures for a reasonable price!

Would they be "allowed" at GW events?

@Hafen,

I would imagine not. This would probably only be suitable for playing the game casually in a private setting.

However, now that 9th Age is out, which you can use any brand of models for, this is ideal. 9th Age is the new, fan-based version of Warhammer which is being developed into a full-fledged system and ruleset.

Word of warning though I have those miniatures an although they are plastic they aren't the same plastic as other manufacturers but PVC so no poly cement. Also though they are quite nice miniatures they are an absolute pig to rank up.

There is a liqid cement sold by modelers mart that will glue these together. It is designed for the restic, PVC and other hard plastics that are being marketed today.

I completely agree with Prince Rupert. Very nice figures, but a pain to get sorted properly on their bases and fiddly to put together. Everything is a separate piece. Nothing that I have said though keeps me from buying more.

I think they look square, boring, and repetitive virtually lacking any movement.
