…and Miniatures Kickstarter.

"The rules and miniature range will be launched through Kickstarter although everything has been fully funded already. The platform will only be used to check for feedback, further playtesting the rules and add more miniatures to the range according to the creator.

For the moment their are two ships and 28 unique models ready to be produced with the rulebook ready to go. The game will 'platoon' level with the models grouped into units. The game will have an average model count between 25-40 per side but it's certainly possible to play much larger than that of course! Kickstarter to be launched in Spring 2016."

Kickstarter launches April 19th according to their Facebook page.

I'm pretty intrigued by this, not least because they've got Benerson Little looking over things for historical accuracy.

Thanks Thranite for this link.

Amazing prices for these ships, if they come close to what's projected in the linked article!

I want to use the ships for our AWI campaigns…. Also Bernhard Cornwell's The Fort comes to mind.

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you all know our Kickstarter goes live in just about 4 hours!

In the meantime I have put together a video that goes through a full turn of gameplay and explains many of the core mechanics. You can watch it here:

It's kind of low quality, but it does its job :)

Mike, good turn-play tutorial. Likewise, plausible game mechanics that seem to offer a good variety of tactical decision making opportunities – I like it.

Waiting for the KS to start today, and best of luck towards the campaign's success and for the development team's future efforts (looks like you guys have really done a nice bit of work here)!

I had a peek at the kickstarter about 40 to 45 minutes after it started, and by that time, it was close to double the goal.

By the time I got free to "back" it, it was approaching 3 times the original goal.

I'm pretty excited about these rules, they look good, and fun.

Thanks for the support guys! Feel free to let me know if you have any questions or concerns :)

Already funded! Good luck with this game and I can't wait for my copy. FINALLY a pirate game based on history and a ride at Disney World.

Frantic19 Apr 2016 8:18 p.m. PST

Indeed! I'm pleasantly surprised at the amount of people who want a real historical pirate game. :)
