That upper figure immediately reminded my of an old 78rpm record I had many years ago: "Howdy Doodyy's Crystal Ball". There's a song on it,"Howdy Doody for President!". |

Somehow I figured this thread would be full of attempts at tossing tomatoes at Trump. By all the deletions, I assume I was right. :D |

Yeah…though I have no idea what they are I'm thinking this topic must be close to breaking some kind of TMP rule or the other… The possibility that such figures might exist for some warped Dr. Who scenario is intriguing. |
Parzival | 18 Mar 2016 11:23 a.m. PST |
What you want is a "tough guy" in a suit. (Not a commentary on the man, just the "look" associated with him). So I'd suggest looking at figures from Gangster/Organized Crime lines such as for "Pulp" settings. Again, not a commentary, just the most likely sort of sculpting approaches to get what I assume you want. That would also probably come closest to giving you a "scowl" expression over the "Howdy Doody" politician look above, the former being more fitting to the persona generally associated with the candidate. Again, not a commentary or criticism! Don't know on Obama, but he's physically kinda "scrawny" compared to most miniatures, which might make him hard to find. Maybe there's something in a civilian or "sophisticated crime boss" figure in the superhero genre? That's where I'd look. |

Of course, that figure up there could also be the result of all those write-in votes for Alfred E. Neuman. |

Wargames Foundry have several that could work. You'd have to do something about the hair and replace the hands with smaller versions. link |

BTW, Parzival, most soldiers throughout history have been "scrawnier" than almost any miniatures, too! (1/72nd excepted). |

I guess I should be careful writing things on the Internet when I've gotten home from work and had a beer or two. I'll simply say that I'd enjoy painting a Donald Trump figure. |
Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut | 18 Mar 2016 5:05 p.m. PST |
@ Mick The Metalsmith: A Donald Trump miniature would be very useful for scenarios involving attempts on his life, featuring Secret Service on one side and any variety of fanatic Constitutionalists on the other. Or Mexican Cartels, as there is a bounty out for Mr. Trump from them. Personally, I would like a Donald Trump figure to use as an NPC in my FiveCore games. |

Seriously, this is in a forum named "utter drivel". Why such heavy-handed censorship? Punkrabbit, If the original posting were a serious quest for a figure…shouldn't it be in the modern or some scifi message folders? |
Winston Smith | 19 Mar 2016 9:18 a.m. PST |
There should be a tipping point ratio of deleted posts and nuking the thread. The assassination scenario above is a shaky post too. You never know what sinister elements, besides Frothers, may be reading TMP. |
Winston Smith | 19 Mar 2016 9:21 a.m. PST |
What's a "fanatic Constitutionalist"? Someone who believes strongly that only Congress may issue letters of marque and reprisal, and is willing to overthrow the government for it? |

I don't understand how anything that is clearly "utter drivel" requires nuking of a thread. Ya only find what ya can expect ta find. |

I've always thought of using the Lovemore Detective Agency from Foundry – it gives you a great VIP group, a couple of agents, a staffer with "Whomsoever for America" mug and the man himself in shirtsleeves. Or the guy with the mug is POTUS and the pointy bloke a Director of Communication. Just be careful how you blog it though as the Secret Service can be a bit touchy about that sort of thing. |
