I am putting some rules based on Thud Ridge together to play similar style strike packages in the gulf war 91. (maybe Scud Ridge :))
Now I am unsure of FAC and Air recon in the GW. I was thinking about adding some special forces stands and have Iraqi Patrols that can neutralise them. Was there any dedicated tactical air recon like the F-4s and f-101s etc in Vietnam?

The USAF used RF-4Cs for tac recce and OA-10s for Fast FAC. The US Navy used F-14s with TARPS recce pods for tac recce. The USMC used OV-10s for air FACs. See here:
