Werewoolf Miniatures sells a dwarven samurai in 28mm for $ 7.

While the figure is nicely made, I wish more companies would actually make some true Asian fantasy figures instead of this pseudo-Tolkien fusion nonsense. The best company out there for asian fantasy is 15mm.co.uk but they only make 15mm figures. We need a company like that for 28mm.

Zenit Miniatures have a fine range of Japanese themed fantasy

At a very high price point and some of them are very overly stylized to the point of being barely recognizable (especially the kappa).

I wish well to anyone who is making and selling miniatures

I do wonder how large the market is for Samurai dwarves

I do think that designers are too lazy to research japanese arms, armour and the existing japanese legends. It's much easier (and more fun ?) to make stuff up.

As a critique of this figure (this is not intended to be a slam, just my observations)
- armour is not sufficiently detailed. Look at link . Should be a lot more plates and lace
- sword is wrong shape and no scabbard (this is almost impossible to cast in metal of course)
- pose is not quite right. Feet and body aren't quite lined up right. Look for some Kendo or Aikido images. I don't think they would have lifted the elbows up so high to expose armpits – again look at kendo images. I seem to remember having to tuck in elbows and that the stroke from the sword came down at a diagonal
- Surely dwarves have longer beards ? wrapped up tied in some form of a traditional knot I would think.
