Now that is smart, can't wait to see the finished board. |

I'm failing to match up your nicely made board with my understanding of the D-day beaches in Normandy. What are the key features of the 50 mile stretch of Normandy coastline that you're hoping to model? |
TunnelRat | 17 Mar 2016 10:27 a.m. PST |
Woooaaaahhhh mamma that looks amazing. |
TheTerrainTutor | 18 Mar 2016 2:06 p.m. PST |
Thanks guys :-D @JimDuncanUK More the idea mate, it's a demo board for my mates shop and so is more a hollywood version of d-day ;-D Started to get the paint on it …..

Actually if you go down to deep SW France some of the beaches there don't look that dis-similar to yours. At Bidart near Biarritz the is a wn71 bunker just like the one you have made overlooking the entire beach from a Rocky cliff. Its now a holiday home. |
UshCha | 19 Mar 2016 1:55 a.m. PST |
You proably want trenches and Fireing points surronding the bunker to be in keeping with the D-Day theme. Machine gun positions should be fireing along the beach well protected from seaward side incomeing. Excelent modeling of the rocks and sand. Typicaly the anti tank defence wants to be seaward of the bunker to prevent or minimise the bunker being outflanked and delay the tanks at the optimum range. |

Now you've got me hooked on watching this project unfold! Awesome! |
TheTerrainTutor | 29 Apr 2016 2:13 p.m. PST |
@christot – now that'd be a cool holiday :-) @UshCha – trenches and sandbag enplacements are already in and the defences are pretty much stuck now lol @gpruitt – glad you like it bud Work continues, the cliffs and beach are done, all that remains is the flocking and seascaping plus a by of fine detailing. Sooo looking forward to getting my Chindits on it for a game!
:-D |

Nice job in making the terrain. I came back yesterday from the Normandy and your terrain could match in a way for the US sectors |
