Seemingly old topics don't work anymore. So I open new one. My 2016 monthly reports. Visible here with explanatory texts.. boki.ee/Military_Uniforms/Uniforms_0024/Military.htm January
February
In March I try to finish all old projects and start new ones – Revolutionary French and Austrians. And one more, but this is theme for Quiz. All big figures will be in AB scale (180cm tall men in 1:100 scale), but may have companions in more propriete size. |

Just placed an order for all my Austrian Cav command and troopers to finish off three of the Dragoon Regts I'm working on. Next I'll be needing another 27 Dragoons in bicorne for the final unit. Once I have those, Sho is going to need to sculpt some new stuff that I need. AB scale Revolutionary would be great! |

Looking really good. I'm excited about seeing these revolutionary figures. They're just what I need to fill some gaps. All I'd need is for you do a set of the lights with Mirliton and another set with bicorne and that's me happy and able to complete the French units I need. |

mirlitons – quite doubtfull if there existed complete demi brigades – only Carl shows this – a low shako maybe more interesting for 1800 campaign for some demi brigades od light infantry. The Rovatti collection showing the demi brigades d'Infanterie légères in hat. |

Osprey "Napoleon's Light Infantry" shows Legere in Mirlitons, as do quite a few other publications. Are these all wrong? |

I don't have this volume, but in case I would like to see primary sources showing light infantry in mirlitons, Carl disqualifies for that, I see on the other side light infantry with hats and helmets, bearskin caps for carabiniers. The Chronica Rovattis shows the with hats, also Albrecht Adam the Züricher shows one in 1799 with helmets. |

Osprey shows the same 14.Leger as Carl. It is possible, that this was the only regiment who wear mirlitons. |

Sho and VW, what are your thoughts on this? Spotted it at the weekend in Milan. French troops at Lodi, painted 1800…

Oops. I thought I had deleted the photo from this thread, but instead I deleted the large bit of text I typed in regard to the various sources showing mirlitons. Basically, according to Osprey and Blandford publications, all written by Haythornthwaite, the 14th wore a Mirliton, and sometimes a bicorne, and eventually wore a shako that retained the mirliton wings. He cites "contemporary sources" for the mirliton but does not show these. |
