I am working on a set of ancient rules that I hope may one day see the light odd any. What I really need is a professional edit by an editor who understands wargaming.

And I want a PRO editor with real experience, rather than a dabbler who is more wargamer than editor. I'm looking for someone based in the UK or who edits in UK not US English too.

Anyone got any suggestions either by name or you where I can find a list of real editors? It's the PRO edit that I'm stumbling over, I have plenty of help from playtesters with the minor points.

Cheers!

I suppose a lot depends on your budget, have you thought about approaching the editors of the wargames magazines to see if they are willing to undertake freelance work?

Was this an audition test?

@Ney Ney

I'm afraid I'm too busy but I thoroughly recommend Dan Mersey, who proofreads MWBG for me and is also, as you probably know, a published writer himself.

Please email him at danielmersey at yahoo dot com (I assume you know that's just me writing out the address so he doesn't get shedloads of spam).

Did you find an editor?

Hamster wrangler. Yes I did, I used Daniel Mersey as recommended by Henry. An excellent choice.
