I like these:

"OMG you cannot be serious, THAT's what you're getting upset about?! Get some perspective! In a world where my sister's cat has diabetes and prayer is banned on trains, (insert topic of thread) is what you're complaining about?"

They usually appear about half-a-dozen posts into any given thread.

There'll be one here before long…

Rants about rants?

Mute Bystander06 Mar 2016 12:15 p.m. PST

Figure scale to ground scale.

Time scale to actions in a game.

"Should we limit the number of posts a person can make per day?"
Which of course is directed at one TMPer who shall remain nameless. This even after Bill bent over backwards to make the haters happy.

And what JJ wrote above. The DH is a virtual penalty box, not the gallows.

RavenscraftCybernetics06 Mar 2016 1:22 p.m. PST

cut/paste no more than 3 paragraphs from a linked article.

Winston Smith06 Mar 2016 1:24 p.m. PST

Rants from the defiantly manly politically incorrect whose rights are violated because they are not allowed to call POTUS a gay commie milquetoast.

Texas Jack06 Mar 2016 1:26 p.m. PST

I take it that is the UM board?

So what scale is it then?

Winston Smith06 Mar 2016 4:02 p.m. PST

28mm.

Mute Bystander06 Mar 2016 4:17 p.m. PST

To paraphrase others, "28mm is a size, 1/100 is a scale."

People taking their toy soldiers too seriously.

Complaining about "kids these days".

Discussions about Rapid Fire seem to go south at a high rate. Maybe it was the FOW of its time.

Most things about "PC" or "the easily offended".
Guess that can be extended to any political grandstanding. And sure, you can all point and laugh because I've done that too.

Complaining about the polls too I guess. I always figured they were supposed to be silly stuff, but I've gotten far more flak for that than anything else I've posted.

People who rant about trends then become silent when asked for data.

"I ordered $20 USD USD worth of goods so why does it cost me $x for postage? My order is not that big"

Then blaming the seller as if he has anythings to do with the setting of postal rates.

I know you asked a specific questions about a specific set of rules but here's an answer about something totally different.

daler240D07 Mar 2016 12:53 a.m. PST

the griping about how any random abstraction being discussed means you are no longer serious about creating a true simulation and how designers that create these things are at best misrepresenting what they said they are doing and at worst are liars.

Personal logo The Virtual Armchair General Sponsoring Member of TMP07 Mar 2016 11:03 a.m. PST

Unnecessary evasions from uninvolved readers of a thread.

E.g, "I like pie." "Bricoles."
