Hello all
I've recently painted up a few Portuguese line infantry for a project that was a bit overambicious. I have decided to use these for a small skirmish force for sharp practice. So far I have bought some cacadores as well. I'm looking for a more varied force and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions with regard to anything I could use. I'm thinking maybe units that had different uniforms to the usual blue just to make the force a bit more colourful than the blue line and brown light infantry. Any suggestions welcome be it units or manufacturers. Thanks
Paddy

To those interested how HoW plays, I conducted a 28mm solo playtest of the introductory St. Ulrich scenario as a kind of game protocol: link
The various steps in the sequence of play are listed together with with the respective dice rolls, modifiers and a bit of commentary. A number of pictures show the positions of the troops.

My first impressions:
- The rules are clearly written and play smoothly, modfiers are easily memorized.
- The period feel is there: importance of guarded flanks; troops being repulsed are able to rally, regroup and attack in reasonable time; command system that adds a bit of uncertainty and also makes solo gaming fun; national distinctions without overdoing it.
- The game is fun to play, even with only a few units per side.

I definetly look forward to playing a bigger game.
Well done, Mr. Flint !

The Loyal Lusitanian Legion had green uniforms…

Always the early "Slop" uniforms provided by the British, which were grey.
Just started on my Portuguese, trying to decide if I'm going to do white equipment straps for my line units, as all pictures seem to show, or black as I've read recently that all the equipment supplied by Britain was of black leather.
