I have a very old box of 15mm Napoleonic Russians which I bought for the 1812 Retreat from Russia. I forget the manufacturer, but they are probably defunct. Can anyone suggest a current alternative? link
Many thanks. |

A buddy of mine once owned some 15mm Jacobite Napoleonics back in the 1980s. If my memory serves me correctly, they were kind of chunky too. |

link Essex would match the style well |

At first I thought they were Ral Parthas from the 70s,the P being for Partha; they also had cast-on colours;but 1--their heads seem a little large. 2--I located a few British figs, and they're on round bases so small that they can't stand up on their own(I now remember people complaining about this). Incredibly, they managed to fit "Ral Partha" and the code number on the bottom in letters so tiny that I can barely make them out now(ah,we were so young then!) Of course,it's conceivable that they changed basing at some point, but the only catalog I can lay my hands on right now is from '92, and they're not listed. That said, if yours are "true" 15mm,they look like Parthas could be compatible,if you can find some. Long out of production too, though(but did I see some rumor of starting them up again)? You didn't say,but I'm assuming yours are rebagged? |

@Hafen von Schlockenberg The figures are bagged in plain unmarked polythene bags, probably by myself (probably 20+ years ago). The original packaging is gone. I still think Tabletop is the most likely manufacturer. @Louie N I'm keeping my eye on Essex for the time being. |

Apparently we're both "of a certain age",at least enough to become forgetful! I always try to tear the label off the pack and stick it in the bag. Though I sometimes,er,forget! |

@Hafen von Schlockenberg I am 66 next month and will be a grandfather come the summer. However, now I am sufficiently 'techy' to run a blog into which I record my purchases, so as long as the internet exists I and my grandson will be able to look back and see what is what. |

They look rather like Tabletop. They would definitely mix with Tabletop. Battle line Miniatures in New Zealand carries the range. |

Yep, I guessed right, four more months and I'm there. But you're WAY ahead of me on the tech. |

@Desert Rat Thanks for the Battleline link. It is useful. e.g. link and link These both look like the same casting and obviously ordering from a UK supplier is better for me. It does confirm though that these figures are the natural descendants of the figures I have. They must have got remastered at some point as they are not identical. As long as they are compatible(-ish) they will do for me. |

They were by Jacobite. Many years ago I purchased a load from a shop on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. |

@Lord Elpass A shop on the Royal Mile, that would be Macs Models run by Bill MacDonald. I do remember dealing with him. Pity he went down the route of taking tourists money rather than wargamers dosh. |

Nice figures, I'm one for getting all kinds in a army to change up duplicates. I only knew what they are not as I don't have these. |

Jacobite are now owned by Elite Wargames and Models if that helps. link |

@GUNBOAT Thanks, I have already emailed them with no response so far. |
