I guess that there would be no alternative. I frequent eight other hobby forums, and none of those have or seem to need such a mechanism. Members who violate the rules are given reminders/warnings about crossing the line by the moderators. Repeat offenders get banned. Banning seems to be a more rare event on those other forums than here. I think it actually does more to stimulate poor behavior here, than stop it. Mostly, I just find it a minor distraction from the hobby stuff. And a way of manufacturing drama. I only ask the question because of the great fear and trauma that the idea incarceration there causes me. |

Dear Editor in Chief Bill set it up without any input from the peanut gallery. He will run the poll, if he feels like it. He will rig the results to give the "right" answer, if he feels like it. And he will implement the results, when and if he feels like it.
