This may not be a very large ship or model, but after working on little schooners for a while a sixth rate feels almost like a line of battle ship to me. This is GHQ's model of La Fauvette, the 20 gun corvette on which young Napoleone di Buonaparte sailed as part of the expedition against the Kingdom of Sardinia in 1793. Not a glorious moment for French arms, but a fine claim to fame for a great looking ship. I love the sleek lines of this ship, and the detailing of the model is great, even down to the female figurehead. More pictures here if you're interested: link

I have no idea how you do so much to these little ships. |

Gawd! That is beautiful. Do you use brush bristles for rigging? I am very impressed with the skill and the beauty of the whole finished ship. |

Just gorgeous James! The lines are crisp and rigging taut. Have to check out GHQ, I don't remember a Fauvette. Looks like I may need amother ship! ;-) |

A small work of art. You know very well represent the stress of running rigging (not so tense) It is not an easy effect to achieve and even less in such a small ship… all that and for your work so clean I must congratulate you. |

Yet again a master piece James. Thanks for showing us. It makes me wish to work harder on mine. Be safe Rory |

Thanks very much guys, I appreciate it. Yes Vol you, like me, and everyone else here, definitely needs another ship model! :) Zargon, the rigging is indeed nylon paintbrush bristles. I bought a brush with pale pink bristles at the hardware store that will last me at least another 15 years at this rate. If I don't lose it…. |

Beautiful ship. I wish we had some like it in the Naval Action PC game. |
