I don't seem to be able to find Pink Foam in Homebase or Wickes. Any idea where I can get it in the UK (ideally not mail order). Also, is there a brand name for it?

Last lot I got was at my local Wickes though that was about 12 months ago.

Nothing on their website though…Bleeped text.

Hope someone has an answer because now I need to know to.

It's styrofoam. Plenty of blue styro on eBay. Otherwise ask your local friendly builders merchant, not a national chain like Wickes. No good asking B&Q either.

Yes, but it's quite expensive one eBay – I'd be looking at £50.00 GBP or so for my needs.

Like Volleyfire says, a proper builders merchant is your best bet – it's mainly used for new builds rather than renovations, so you want somewhere that primarily caters to the building trade rather than DIYers.

I don't think that's the same stuff. And you have to buy it in large quantities.

It is the same stuff – if memory serves the green might not be as dense as pink or blue though. I've got blueboard from them in the past and it's top notch, but pricier than the builders' merchant. As they supply it in perfect 600mm squares it's ideal for terrain boards though.

If you're near London the 4d model shop sells all sorts of foam:

If it is not as dense then it is not the same.

Try Jewson's – link – They have yellow and blue, the colour doesn't really mean anything these days.

First up Wickes delisted Pink Foam last year and had a clearance sale…

Second the colour is important. The cream/yellow foam (eg Kingspan) is not worth the money. It is too fragile.

Blue Foam can be sourced via ebay and as reported the 4 D shop in London – very expensive

Interested to see if anybody finds a source in UK…

They also have it in other thicknesses. Service is excellent.
