All, We are now upon the sixth fight in Operation Jupiter, the British assault on The Ridge. So far the British have successfully evicted the Germans from their initial defensive positions at and around the Chateau de Fontaine, and now are attacking the next German defensive line at and around the village of Eterville. As the British push to the outskirts of Eterville, it falls to the 1st Company of the 457th PanzerGrenadier Abteilung Sauer und Krauthammer, commanded by Captain Sorensen and his 2iC Lt Weidthaus. In the attack we have Major Dillon's A Company, with Lt Cooman as his 2iC, of the 5th Westchesterfords North Riding Rangers of the Highland Coldshire Guards (5th WNRRHCG). In the opening attack of Operation Jupiter, Major Dillon's company evicted Captain Sorensen's from the Les Duanes Farm Complex. In real life it's 10 July 1944, and it's 4th Battalion, Dorset Regiment, 130th Brigade, 43rd Wessex Division vs 1st Battalion, 22nd SS Panzergrenadier Regiment, 10th SS Panzer Division. In real life the Brits were bombed by their own air force, but quickly regrouped to fight into the center of town, relying heavily on the Churchills and Crocodiles to shoot the place up.
British infantry push forward into the town, looking to close assault a German halftrack, but a nearby Panzer Mark IV react fires, hoping to drive the Tommies back and save his comrades. The fight in the town devolved into a horrendous melee; to see how it went, please check the blog at: linkWell, we got three fights in this past weekend, and they were fantastic. This is the first of them, two more to come. V/R, Jack |

Nice looking game. Is it 15mm? |

79th, Thank you Sir, and it's all beautiful 10mm from Pendraken (with some plastic Takara tanks). I did play one fight with 15mm troops, just a sniper hunt. V/R, Jack |

Mixed emotions here. I'm delighted to see Jack getting his ass whooped obviously. Great to see the young lad doing the biz again. But who the %#%@ was that masquerading as Capt Dillon? Great looking terrain |

Kyote – Hush ya face, you traitor! Ben – Thanks man, keep turning out books and I'll keep turning out batreps! ;) I was eyeing Lafiere and Beyond Lafiere the other night; I badly want to play them to continue my 'All Americans' campaign, but after 30 games of Operation Normandy I need to get back to Cuba Libre. Mwinsorfw – Indeed, I believe I'll make that happen now that Captain Sorensen got gunned down. Need to do something about the poor, cowardly Brit CO that got shot up too ;) Panda – Yeah, I'm sure all you communists are happy to see me get beat. I'll even give ya a spoiler: we played three games this week, and the little monkey took two of them! And there was no one masquerading as Major Dillon; I thought the model character performed an order of magnitude better than his real-life counterpart ever would have. That and believe that using 10mm Pendraken, my Major Dillon was a life-size replica of his namesake ;) I'm working on the next batrep. V/R, Jack |

The little guy??? But that's Panda, not my son. My boy is 6 and already taller than the Panda… V/R, Jack |

Hi Jack you're a brave man entering into a insulting physical appearance arena; remember I've seen your Captain Jack "Sparrow" pirate photo. And I'm still wondering just how many sparrows you needed to eat to get that "round" :0 Besides like Blue I look great in high heels |

Don't hate me 'cause I'm beautiful. And, as Kyote can attest, I'm not as fat as he expected, and I'm taller too! And it's not the heels that bother me about your Facebook photos, it's the grape smugglers you're so fond of ;) V/R, Jack |

"grape smugglers" I had to google this and I really could have done without those images :) Isn't that the official Marines dress uniform Jack ;) |
Just Jack | 03 Mar 2016 8:30 p.m. PST |
You Googled grape smugglers!!?? I hope your wife wasn't nearby! And our official PT uniform was the banana hammock; go ahead and Google that ;) V/R, Jack |
