o, Salute 2016 approaches.

We have our passes and have been placed pretty much where we were last year (GF17). However, Forgeworld are far, far away so we won't be blighted by their queue again.

Although our primary aim is to launch Blood Eagle at the show, we shall also have an IHMN Gothic board to keep with the overall Salute 2016 theme of Steampunk.

So looking forwards to this and to meeting many of you again Cheesy

How many of you are coming, trading or displaying at the show?

Not this year, the NWS offering of a game seems to b not happening and there's no Wings of Glory game being run this year either. The Steampunk theme doesn't interest me either so no reason to go this time.

Unless all goes horribly wrong then YES will be at Salute. Looking for games to play and boardgames & plastic figures to buy and terrain and other figures. In that order of priority.

Same as usual wink

I aim to be there with a couple of pals, but none of us have much interest in the Steampunk theme at all – the theme almost prevented us going, but the chance to meet up was too strong.

Going there to see friends and for all of the manufacturers being available in one place. Good to see some of the excellent displays & games too. However, we'll probably disappear off to the pub around lunchtime and call it a day.

I've been going to Salute since the 80s, but I suspect that this will be the last for quite a time.

Are you interested in Dark Ages or Samurai games?

Guthroth26 Feb 2016 11:53 a.m. PST

I dislike the venue with a passion, but I expect to be there to play Blood Eagle and pick up a set of the rules.

I'll be going. It's so easy for me to get to that it's daft not to go. I've never cared too much what the theme is as it doesn't really impact on my enjoyment of the day. I don't like the venue but it's what we have… I tend to give the free figure away.

I shall try to be restrained with my purchases but anything can happen on the day.

Will Blood Eagle include Normans?

Will there be a participation game at Salute?

Craig Cartmell27 Feb 2016 9:09 a.m. PST

Hi Nick B,

Blood Eagle is aimed at the 9th-10th centuries, so a little early for Normans. However, as the rules have a full and open points system if would not be difficult to create a suitable Normans Warband. You could even base it upon the Franks' list.

There shall be a participation game at Salute. I'm currently up to my elbows in mud, blood and beer assembling the buildings and building the board.

Cheers,
Craig

Inquiring minds want to know how closely the mechanics match any previous rules. Oh, and Sir Randall, who brought Blood Eagle up to the local group, will want to know about his models from Saga. ;->=
