Never tell me something can't be done. All are conversions.

I think you will need more

Those are great! I'm just coming out of a gaming hiatus and doing some reacquainting with stuff I boxed up last August. I know I have a small jar with all of my 1/600 duds from packs that I intended to use as markers like these.

Good inspiration for me! How did you do the smoke on the top three?

Those are absolutely awesome!

Those do look great!

I've been wanting to cut the turrets off some of my tanks, so they can be properly rotated on target.

Thanks for sharing your pics.

Those look great. I hope the person who caused this has since retracted his counters remark. The metal they use is some sort of aluminum alloy, what did you use to cut the turrets off of the chassis?

Thx guys!

Saber 6: I do need more, I plan to make wrecks for all of my armour 1:1 to the working tanks (cause I like making wrecks)

MiniPatton: I inserted a pin in the top of the tank, added glue and coarse tufts and trimmed that into a cloud shape. Grey primer, then a dark grey wash over it, done.

Mako and Bushy: Don't cut the turrets off the tanks. I did that once 4 years ago and it took me 30 minutes just to get one off, it takes forever to do that properly cause the metal is so damn hard. It completely turned me off all of his products (I have his 15mm sci-fi as well, same problem) for a long time until this Monday evening when I had a Eureka moment. I do a lot of greenstuff casting with that Japanese heat mouldable plastic for my other stuff, and those are small parts just like these tanks, so I made a dozen moulds of the T-55 with the turret removed and one who had a broken barrel. By luck all moulds came out 99% perfect so now I can easily make wrecks and cut off turrets in seconds. I'll do this just for wrecks and small dioramas, for the normal guntanks and mobile units I will happily buy from Fighting 15's as these guys are so cheap and I want to support 08 to bring out more stuff. Just don't go cutting the originals, you will go insane

This is crazy awesome Gunbird! I have wrecks for each of my helos for Nam, including Chinook and Sea Knights, though I've only had about 1/4 of my helos downed at once (it was a big game, going into the Ashau in '69 when they had the radar controlled AA guns against the Hueys, just ugly) so now I don't feel quite so bonkers!

Very impressive, especially the smoke coming out of one gun barrel.

HOW in the world did you make that smoke effect ????

Gunbird27 Feb 2016 4:26 p.m. PST

Chicklewis, simple clump foliage around a wire, coated with thinned woodglue to harden it, basecoated grey and then washed with extra dark grey wash. Done.

It can't be done …

I like the scorched ground effect a lot! How did you do that?

Axon0315 Mar 2016 12:58 p.m. PST

The scorched earth around some of the wrecks looks great! How did you get that effect?
