Hi
does anyone know if exist on trade Venetian/Spanish/Ottoman galleys in paper for the Battle of Lepanto?

Hi
Not sure on paper, but if you consider wooden laser cut as option, there are some great looking ones here at Skull and Crown.

Looking at the model at [1] it seems it would not be too much work to build these galleys from layers of cardboard. Skull & Crown makes their vessels similarly but with lasercut wood [2].

What about Barony Miniatures paper cogs? They may be a little early, but could be worth a look if you are interested in 28mm.

Sorry, just noticed you said galleys, the cogs are probably all wrong.

thanks again everybody-
plasticviking … I would love for 28 mm or for 20 mm papersoldiers. would you do them in paper?

Plasticviking308 Mar 2016 9:48 a.m. PST

My ships are designed to be used en masse and be simply cut and folded to a small scale. They lack the detail when blown up to 1/72 or larger unfortunately. At 40 metres, a galley is 50cm long in 1/72……it needs quite a lot of detailing to look good. However you could do it in card i think.. then lots of layers of paint and wood-glue to give it strength. it will just take time. Blow some drawings up to the right size and then cut pieces out against them.

You want to do Lepanto in 28mm?

paperbattles23 Mar 2016 6:52 a.m. PST

cwlinsj
yes I would love… but I find it very difficult to do in paper the galleys.
Even at 10 mm.

Plasticvikings:
do you think you could do galleys for 10 mmm papersoldiers?
