This has been running awhile but I've seen fairly little buzz about it anywhere:

While it's funded almost twice over, it's not a huge success compared to what I hear about Anvil Eight Games' first Aetherium KS. Maybe they have been counting on the folks who pledged for that to carry this.

The nominal scale is 32mm but I don't see it being much of an issue when everybody in the new faction is basically a robot of some sort.

Well. This project progressed in timely fashion up until the point when they dropped the ball on rest-of-the-world posting & packing. So instead of quietly floating in from an EU-based sender my parcel seems to have been fired off from good ole U. S. of A and thus ended in the tender care of the local customs office. It's not too much of hassle of course these days as you can do the honors online and anyway I suppose a glitch of this particular sort was inevitable at some point -- but I wouldn't say this was EU Friendly as advertised )-:<)

Fulfillment services are expensive, my friend. I think the Kickstarter culture has built expectations that are entirely unrealistic and have severe effects on the ability of businesses to follow through on their responsibility.

Cheap or free shipping eats not only into the bottom line, but the manufacturing budget as well.

All of that is probably true, but irrelevant.

I disagree with that statement.

Feel free. It's still correct.

Incidentally, Anvil Eight seem to agree with me. They've provided an explanation for what happened and also promised to reimburse the extra cost I incurred with store credit. Obviously it would've saved them (and me) the hassle if they'd not been so keen on meeting the project deadline.

I think that there's plenty of examples of poorly fulfilled Kickstarter campaigns that a result of running out of cash… Mostly due to the fact that shipping orders is the most expensive part.

One company in particular had to resort to fraud and still couldn't fill orders.
