Set-up for another movie?

coopman22 Feb 2016 7:26 p.m. PST

That was a wild roller coaster ride, wasn't it? When the show ended, I was like: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Definitely a setup for another 6 shows; let's hope there are ones.

No worries: link

Hafen von Schlockenberg22 Feb 2016 10:34 p.m. PST

OK,Fanatik,thanks,that's reassuring, I missed that (or it wasn't up yet)on my post-show search.So, another six-episode "season",maybe? American TV becoming more like BBC--"Aliens at Downton Abbey"?

Cyrus the Great23 Feb 2016 12:27 a.m. PST

I loved every minute of it! Fox would have to be nuts not to order more episodes.

Norrins23 Feb 2016 4:35 a.m. PST

A lot of it depends on whether Gillian Anderson is free, as she's a busy lady. link

SonofThor23 Feb 2016 6:44 a.m. PST

I had a feeling they were going to do that.

We haven't got to the end yet in the UK – just had the fun of the Lizardman episode (pretty funny!).

Cyrus the Great23 Feb 2016 7:36 a.m. PST

@Norrins,
The article you linked to says nothing specific about Gillian Anderson's upcoming work schedule. Hannibal hasn't been renewed, and in one of the last scenes, Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier was eating her own leg.

Hafen von Schlockenberg23 Feb 2016 9:26 a.m. PST

I liked Mads Mikkelsen in Unit One,glad to see he made it in America,but--ugh!

imdone23 Feb 2016 3:12 p.m. PST

I loved the old X Files. I did not like this one. You really can't have the ting and yang two FBI agents with the are there or are there not aliens after they saw them, were kidnapped, impregnated by, sat with them, etc. in the host of post show unsatisfying movies.

lugal hdan23 Feb 2016 3:40 p.m. PST

Same here, zoltar. I liked a few of the episodes, but the majority were not good, and I actively disliked the last episode.

Col Durnford23 Feb 2016 6:10 p.m. PST

I would have been much happier with just the 6 episodes. Loved the original and was hoping they would have spun it off to the two younger ones so I could just do a pass. Most likely will watch next season, just not looking forward to it.

Norrins24 Feb 2016 3:19 a.m. PST

@Cyrus the Great
My bad. That link did previously mention her workload, as it made mention that she's due to film the next series of The Fall and no doubt another period drama for the BBC.

Cyrus the Great24 Feb 2016 10:42 a.m. PST

@Norrins,
I really liked her as Lady Dedlock in Bleak House and the aforementioned Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier on Hannibal. Nice to see she has so much work, but that could be bad for trying to fit in new X-Files episodes.

Mardaddy24 Feb 2016 11:42 a.m. PST

I would have been happiest with a Episode 1 and Episode 6 two-parter.

The other episodes were "meh." Scully's Mom/cancer episode was the weakest, more a character study that was unneeded, and while the were-monster episode was unique and had its moments, it was also just silly.

Stick to the conspiracy theory-stuff!

Pyrate Captain24 Feb 2016 10:16 p.m. PST

My complaint is that Carter and team spent too much time trying to link the present to the past when it really wasn't necessary. He created new world order circumstances and should have looked only forward, not into the past.

while the were-monster episode was unique and had its moments, it was also just silly.

That's why I loved it.

Redmenace26 Feb 2016 6:34 p.m. PST

Sorry it didn't do it for you Mardaddy but I have to agree with 20thmaine.

I loved the first episode with the 'secret powers' using alien tech and thought this was going to be a cracking new series, then it all went pear shaped with the comedy…

I missed most of it because of working late on Monday nights. I'll have to get some young person to set up TiVo or DVR or whatever it is they do with cvs nowadays. Or maybe it'll be on released on DVD soon and my wife and I can binge-watch for a couple of nights.

Lookingglassman15 Mar 2016 5:17 p.m. PST

I did not like how it ended. I hope there is more.

chromedog16 Mar 2016 11:03 p.m. PST

I wished I had missed more of it.

As it was, the only one I liked was the kiwi werelizard thing episode.
