Has anyone read this? I've just finished the first chapter by Paddy Griffith and it focuses on the French invasion of Ireland, which goes better than historically (due to Admiral Jervis dying early and fog lifting at a time to confound the French ship's captain in British pay. It suggests that Hoche was a very able commander who might be seen as a less threatening alternative to Bonaparte by French leaders. An early peace with a more moderate French government spares the Republic general mobilisation and twenty years of war, so that it becomes far more established. Anyone got any thoughts on this? |

Awesome stuff. Love the wicker basket. From all my reading, I have always pictured the above and immediately think of the old US television show called the Beverly Hillbillies. Thanks for sharing. |

I love when the IT goes wrong. This marvellous picture is reproduced on a Napoleonic Forum. I love the Dennison smock camou and Vickers K gun. (Just to prove I can go beyond Imperial Guard and Scots Greys) The painting is superb. Ever thought about 1815? |
