I was watching Skyfall on the Esquire Channel. (It suffered by distreaction while I got dinner ready and helped with the cleanup.) Anyway, right after that ended to my confusion, the "Original Esquire series Beowulf" came on. Apparently, sand worms were a big danger back then. At least it had Walder Frey from Game of Thrones (David Bradley) as a crotchety old chieftain who I do not quite trust when it comes to Guest right. Can't quite figure out why… Anyway, it has kind of Arab looking types, and SAND WORMS! Hey, have a few beers and watch it. |

Sandworms seem to be proliferating lately. |

When the series launched, I couldn't think what it reminded me of. Then it struck me. And now I can only think of it as… "Beowulf: Warrior Princess". |

It's generic fantasy – that it includes a lead character with the name Beowulf should be considered purely accidental and coincidental, any similarity to epic poems is unlikely. The sets and effects are really quite good, but it desperately needs a script writer that can, like, write dialogue and stuff, oh and a fight coordinator that knows that sword blades are sharp and not best used as grips |

Just keep thrusting the sword blade into the ground when you are making some "DRAMATIC ANNOUNCEMENT!!!" and soon enough, it will be dull enough to handle easily. |

It was the boy band rejects that 1st raised my eyebrows, didn't know there was so much hair product available in the dark ages. Add to that the tribe of Africans who somehow seemed to be a major force in Northern Europe and my suspended belief gave up after 2 episodes, which was an episode longer than most of my friends! |

See, you fell into the trap of thinking it's set in Northern Europe because of the name. :) |

I'm only watching it for Joanne Whalley… I find all the politically correct ethnic actors added into it for no logical reason strange. Sinbad, of course. Atlantis, fine. Beowulf – just wrong. |

I think the show is needlessly racist to the monstrous and deadly and should show more scenes of fluffy bunnies and rainbows. Sincerely Grendel's Mom |

I'm only watching it for Joanne Whalley… Why didn't somebody tell me that earlier!! I read the bad reviews and ignored the show. Although when i think of it she is roughly as old as i am, so i dont know if i want to see her now. Prefer to watch Willow again. |
