Old guns are ideal for irregular troops. Although they're a bit lethal in the wrong hands. I wouldn't fancy a Sten though, you could easily lose a finger in the action. |

I have several times expressed puzzlement where terrs on the continent could be getting current military-grade assault rifles in a supposedly disarmed EU ------------- yes really dont believe Fox News on all that Europe is a bunch of disarmed commie lefties (any more than we should think all Americans are right wing nuts). As to arms well if drugs can be moved in 200kg shipments round how about firearms. Plus there is country with a war situation (Ukraine) on the frontier of several EU states |

Agreed … I think Mark Twain said something like, "If you don't read the newspaper you are uninformed. And if you do read the newspaper you are misinformed." Pretty much stands true for much of the media today, I'd think. |

While attributed to Mark Twain, that quote doesn't appear in any of his books or papers, nor in any contemporary stories about him. It's just someone being snarky, who attached a famous name to it to give it more verisimilitude. |

You may be correct. That is why I stated "I think" he said it. Either way IMO, it holds some truth … |
