I placed a small order with FRP Games on the 5th of February. I used to like ordering from them since I am in Nevada and I can expect receive order from them about 2 days after they ship. I needed the order fairly quickly for a commission. So here is what happened, I get a email on the 9th that one of the paints is not in stock. I did not hear from them in a couple of days so on the 11th I suggest a different paint that they claim is in stock as a substitute. I get a email back that everything is in stock and will be shipped that day or the next. On the 15th their site shows a tracking number and it says it is USPS but it is not showing up on the USPS site. I am getting worried and contact the again on the 18th and find out it did go out on the 15th and it went Fedex Smartpost. Smartpost is anything but, instead of taking 2 days to get here it is taking a week, it had to go through Phoenix AZ to get to Las Vegas Nevada and is currently sitting in Henderson NV since yesterday.

Yeah "smart post" is the worst and I have no idea why companies use it. It was designed to be a partnership that allowed FedEx and UPS to send packages to remote areas. FedEx and UPS use their own delivery service to get the package to the nearest facility, then they hand it off to the USPS for the final delivery. But it doesn't work that way. I used to live in El Paso TX, we had both FedEx and UPS facilities in town but if someone sent me something smart post from LA it was first sent to Dallas (BTW passing through El Paso to get there) then it was mailed from Dallas. El Paso is almost in the middle between LA and Dallas, mail from LA reached me in two days as did mail from Dallas. So "Smart Post" took double the time. Now I live in Austin, regular FedEx from Dallas gets here the next day but Smart Post can take up to a week. And it's not like the companies give you a discount for shipping via "smart post".

Sorry this happened to you. I used to deal with FRP but if they have switched to "Smart Post" then I won't. It just adds to much to the shipping time and doesn't save the recipient any money.

They pretty much lost me as a customer because of this. The Fedex site says it is to be delivered on the 22nd. I am guessing this is why since it arrived in Henderson yesterday morning it is not going to USPS till tonight or tomorrow.

Smart post is horrible. I refuse to buy from anyone using it. Plus, the packages tend to get abused.
