I used to use Polly S – French blue gray for my W.W. I French uniforms, but Polly S is out of production.

French horizon blue isn't "light" blue as I've seen some paint their figures, so what paint do you use?

I'm using the Foundry Confederate Gray triad on mine.

Vallejo Mirage Blue, which some say is too blue, but it looks fine to me.

At least it is obvious they are French.

I use Vallejo French Mirage Blue and lighten or darken when blocking.
