Does anyone have any information from Japanese sources on goblin skin colour ? I can always go standard green but would like to know if there is anything in literature. I do know for instance that Oni are usually red or blue …. I have bought an embarassingly large number of Clan wars goblins on ebay and ought to at least do something with them Thanks John |

I don't know if this is precisely the kind of thing you are looking for, but there is scroll dating from Edo times that is something of a "Who's Who" of things that go bump in the night here. A quick search found that someone posted some pics here. English commentary. link |

I'd be hard pressed to find a colour that I haven't seen a Japanese goblin painted as…. |

Hi. I responded to your post the other day but my response ended up under another heading. As follows: The Night procession of the 100 goblins by Hiroharu Itaya (NSW Art gallery) link has them in a number of colours (flesh, brown shades, red brown/reddish, even blue; but not green as far as I remember). There's probably lots of similar art that I've not seen. |

@gavandjosh2: looks like your link didn't copy correctly. link should work. For some more fun, check the anime/manga Nurarihyon no Mago (Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan in the English releases) Lots of various monsters in the background. |
