I propose the addition of a "Boardgames with Miniatures" board to the main TMP message boards. |

Would you include Commands and Colors Ancients and Napoleonics with their blocks?. |

If this is the route we go, I would prefer to call it "Miniatures Boardgames". Ron |

Would you include Commands and Colors Ancients and Napoleonics with their blocks? Good point. Insofar as many people replace the blocks with miniatures (as indeed does Richard Borg, the designer), then yes, I would. |

I would prefer to call it "Miniatures Boardgames". I'd be happy with that. More succinct than my suggestion. |

Try, but I bet it doesn't even come close to flying. We don't NEED any more boards on TMP. |

More boards, lovely. (TM) And again – no sarcasm on this one, it's a good idea. |

Nice try, but as I said on the other thread, what is needed is to take down the artificial barrier between regular and Plus boards. That all started when someone could not abide seeing music threads and was too lazy to turn it off. "Why should I have to blah blah blah… when it offendeth me?" |

I enjoy a fair number of miniatures boardgames, but most of them aren't related to each other in theme or mechanic. What sort of discussion would such a new board generate? Historical games with blocks/counters, BattleTech, BloodBowl, Dark Future, Space Hulk, Ninja All Stars, etc. — I think they all best fit in their primary genre discussion boards. |

Nice try, but as I said on the other thread, what is needed is to take down the artificial barrier between regular and Plus boards. But as you said on the other thread, that has been voted down at least twice before. |

Miniature board games and board games with miniatures are NOT the same thing. We already have a board for these discussions and it rarely sees much activity. There is no upside to this suggestion |

Miniature board games and board games with miniatures are NOT the same thing. What is the difference? |

If this is the route we go, I would prefer to call it "Miniatures Boardgames". 'Miniatures Boardgames' calls to mind one of those magnetic 'travel' chess-n-checkers sets, or a Monopoly board carved into the thorax of a cricket. |

If someone can give me a satisfactory definition of a "miniatures board game" then I'll think about voting for it. I think it is a false distinction, any game can be played with counters or toys whether it is on a board or a game cloth. Some mechanisms might be little inconvenient of course, but our toys are only pretty 3D counters. |

Perhaps the people who would vote for this new board would care to explain what they think it is for? Risk? (although only newer editions use figures) Memoir 44? Command and Colours Ancients played with figures? Lost Battles? – available both as a board game and a figure rules. What about playing Panzerblitz and Squad Leader using figures instead of counters? Dungeons and Dragons? (we used to play that with counters) |

I play Panzerbliz with figures. |
