When you order commercially-produced bases, do you only order exactly what you need, or do you order extra? |
Disco Joe | 17 Feb 2016 2:10 p.m. PST |
I order way more than I need. My way of looking at it is that sometime in the future I will need more so while I am at it I might as well get them now. Plus it does help justify the shipping charges. |

I am with Disco Joe – I figure that I will be getting around to using those bases as the big ole lead mountain gets painted |
Extrabio1947 | 17 Feb 2016 2:18 p.m. PST |
Always more, especially if they are custom (thank you, Litko). |

When you use Flames of War based, you order by the full blister. |

I use washers and mount my figures individually. I always purchase hundreds at a time when I get them. I will eventually need them. |

+1 Disco Joe and Extrabio1947. Praise be unto Litko! |

I usually order for multiple projects at once when litko is having a sale so I mostly order just the bases I need. However… All those lovely tokens somehow find there way into my cart. |

I always order at least twice what I immediately need. Saves time and money. It helps that all of my periods are mounted according to one of three systems. Individual (use washers), 3" square or 60mm square. |
coopman | 17 Feb 2016 3:23 p.m. PST |
Always order more than I currently need, to promote expansion. |

extra, I know I'll use them. |

Like Rich I mount 99% of my figures in one of 3 ways….20x20, 20x15 or washer. Except in rare cases I always round up to the next 50. For my 20x15 last time I ordered 1,000 pieces and I'm already down to just a few hundred (I also buy a lot painted and then rebase to match my collection). |

Basics I order in batches … special sizes I order what I need for the project envisaged to the nearest pack quantity. Phil (usually from Warbases) |

A friend of mine has a laser cutter so he makes bases for our entire group. I always order more. |

I order figures and bases in excess of need. It always works out. |
Mute Bystander | 17 Feb 2016 7:37 p.m. PST |
More LITKO than I think I need because I never have too many for starting the next project. |

Another +1 Disco Joe and Extrabio1947. More is better. For I am a servant unto Litko, all seeing, all knowing, almighty. Praise be unto Litko. |

I won a Blood Bowl team on eBay some years back (can't remember exactly which one without digging into a pile of pewter.) They were shipped loose in a non-GW box with peanut foam packing, but no bases. I ordered slotta bases from GW, more than were needed just in case I got another win like that or for replacements of broken or malformed ones. (Or anything else that comes along.) |

I always order extra, sometimes a lot extra. I try to only make one order a year but it doesn't always work out like that. I need to place an order soon and I'm just deciding what I'll think I'll need over the coming couple of years. |

Order the standard ones in bulk you never know when you will need one. |
