The next figure offering from our revised American Revolution line is a man in hunting shirt. He could be used in most any Continental or "state" regiment that was outfitted that way originally, or defaulted to frontier wear when regulation uniforms wore out or never arrived at all. The story goes that Washington wanted the hunting shirt to be the official uniform of the Continental army, but Congress wouldn't agree. (Everything old is new again!)

As one of the selections on our Recruit Your Own Regiment menu, you can choose as many of this pose as you like or combine it with other "at the ready" poses we offer, here: link The first edition version of this figure came with his head in tricorne attached (which you can still get on our AWI page). This, the second edition version, has lost his head. A hole has been drilled at his neck, and he's been re-mastered and re-tooled right back from the original green.

You also choose the head sets that go with your figures. In the above pic, we used "Leather Cap Set #1" to create Butler's Rangers. This is a set of skirmishers (6 soldiers + 2 command) according to the All the King's Men wargame rules. A skirmishers set like this runs for just $25 USD, unpainted, and is 54mm metal.

And yes, you can wargame in 54mm, and not just skirmish games. You can do set-piece battles, too. Our self-titled All the King's Men rules are available as a free PDF here: PDF link They're free! What do you have to lose by checking them out and seeing what you can do with this scale?

Not that I'm not figuring out what I want to buy, I'm just stating the obvious, Ken…

Oh those look good indeed!

You do need to warn your men to keep their heads down though lest they lose them to a cannon shot! grin
