So many models and so much terrain/buildings come prepainted these days -- do you find yourself repainting these pieces to suit your own standards or to correct inaccuracies? I'm talking figures as well as tabletop buildings or terrain pieces. |

I've never found anything pre-painted that I could use, but would repaint it, if I did. |

I repaint pretty well all pre-painted vehicles and figures I buy, only real exception are Micro Machines Star Wars figures. Terrain is another matter, I'm not going to re-flock a hill a different colour…. |

If they were cheap enough to justify buying them comparable to nude lead and had a crsppy paint job, yes. Not much chance of that happening in AWI though. |

I inherited a few and I did a wash/highlights on them |

Always but sometimes it's just a wash and dry brush. |

Yes – done lots of Wings of War repaints to get historical flights rather than an odd collection of one-off planes. |

I've tried a few times, mainly the HALOClix. Was not successful. If I could strip them, I would try it more… Damon. |

Usually. At least a wash & some details. I don't buy many though. |

Usually I like to leave my figures as they were. For example I like very much to play with old Norman knights produced by Peter Laing and painted in a very naive style in the early '70ies. Marco |

I find myself buying lots of Heroclix figures because so few metal figures are made for superheroes (let alone licensed characters), and then I always repaint to my usual standard since Heroclix are not pre-painted very well relative to standard historical minis painted by their owners. And while I love Miniature Building Authority products, I can always improve on them, sometimes only a little, sometimes quite a bit of repainting to get the results I want. I consider this acceptable; and it's usually faster than painting from absolute scratch. I've repainted some Wings of War planes, too, so's to have personalized fictitious aces for myself! |
