It looks like I will be in Melbourne 1 week every 2 months for the rest of the year.

Are there any events or cons I should plan my trips around?

Is there any gaming on weeknights within a tram or train ride of the CBD (I wont have a car, so I have to be able to get there easily)

There is the Little Wars show end of May, in Moorabbin, around 30 minutes from the CBD. Then there is Eureka, also around 30 minutes from the CBD and close to a station. Mind Games and Hylands in the city as well. What periods are you interested in Nick?

John, I am a promiscuous wargamer! I play a lot of WWII and Ancients, but my shelves have Napoleonics, ECW, ACW, WWI, biplanes, etc.

If I bought an army up it would probably be WWII (FOW) or Ancients (Carthaginians)

You could also try Games Lab in the City. They are a venue, more for cards and board games than figures, but I am informed they have a bar downstairs too.
