These are the results of my inquiry a year or so ago. ]http://www.lead-adventure.de/index.php?topic=75457.0 The bodies are by Empress, the girls head by Statuesque & the male heads in hats are by Mad Robot.
All the castings were super clean and a joy to assemble and paint, and all three of these companies were excellent to buy from. Move out!
Shewolf and her devil dogs to be painted up soon. Thanks for looking. |

Superb job on the naval camo, and thanks for showing the Statuesque head in use. May I ask, is that the "heroic" or "finescale" version of the head? |

Everyone, thank you for the kind words. I believe the head would be sized to that of their fine scale as it came from a Statuesque's figure pack Mei-Lin Mayfair 2.0 [link below]. I chose it because the hair is in a bun that i thought looked like that worn by military women.

This is probably the first time I've seen the Navy get attention. That's really cool. |

Very nicely done! Interesting camouflage colour, didn't realise anyone in the military actually used it. I own a pair of kevlar motorbike trousers in that colour and they stand out a mile which is ideal for my purposes. |

Great job on the camouflage. Unfortunately for the sailors, blue camouflage will make them invisible when they've fallen overboard and need to be rescued, and highly visible in daylight in urban, arctic, jungle, forest, or desert terrain. It's probably pretty good at night. |

First off, those are exceptionally well painted figures. That uniform is intended as a shipboard working uniform rather then operational camouflage. That being said, Navy boarding parties drawn from ships crews do wear it, as would ships crews who are guarding ships in port. Sailors deployed ASHORE (not shouting just don't know how to underline on this forum) will normally either wear USMC camouflage uniforms (when attached to USMC units) or the Navy Warfighting Uniforms. SEALs and Seabees are usually equipped in either a desert or woodland version of the the NWU. This link was brought up from a google search. It has visual depictions of the Navy patterns alongside the USMC patterns. I think at "gaming scales" there is no difference, except the Navy woodland uniform might be slightly 'lighter' then new USMC uniforms, though older/faded USMC uniforms look alot like the new Navy patterns. link link \ |

Thanks for the kind words all. Apache, thank you very much for the helpful links. The figures I painted up here will be representing some sailors from an inland NAS that get caught up in my zombie apocalypse campaign; TMP link I also like the blue working uniform because it is instantly recognizable as US Navy in comparison with my hopefully soon to be painted up USMC squad and from my US Army/NG; TMP link |
