So if your about to start a new ruleset/period/army/etc do you get yourself a new set of dice to go along with it? For example I just ordered the Dawn: Rise of the Occulites game and them my O.C.D. kicked in. Next thing I knew I was buying five new sets of D10s to color match the five tribes of minis. Do you find yourself doing similar when getting into something new? A: I always get new dice B: I have plenty already, use what I got C: Only buy dice if the rules call for special dice (order dice, special icon dice, etc) |

not usually. If there is a good reason to do so then yes. I bought some more AQOMF dice because I got a good price and I already had gotten some with the box sets. I bought 60 D20 for Space 1889 games that use TSATF as base. I didn't have enough when everyone showed up. |

Depends. I like my dice to color coordinate somewhat so if it is a game with nationalities, ideally dice in national colors or with their flag on the six or one. Otherwise I like the colors to match the period/army so my Royalists in ECW use red dice whereas Parliament use orange and the Scots a blue grey. My Union use blue dice and the Rebels grey. If I have appropriate colored dice, I use what I have. If not, sadly, yes I'll buy a new set. |

I've got so many dice, I'm pretty sure I can coordinate with any nationality. The only dice I'd bu now are ones in more subdued colors that will blend better with my terrain. I really want some desert sand d10's |

I've got quite a few dice including several polyhedral sets, with D16s (which I've never used) and even some D30s. I've also got the usual bucket of D6s, average dice, direction dice, blank dice, poker dice, a few backgammon doubling dice, mini dice, big dice, several sets of Commands and Colors dice, and a bag of oddities including dice with emoticons, Japanese symbols, Roman numerals and this little beauty out of some game or other that I'm using as a special scenario dice in an X Wing game O yeah, I forgot X Wing dice. I knew that coloured spot dice would come in for something one day (see link to how I'll use it).
link I've even got a pair of heavily weighted dice (to 6s) that someone bizzarly left on the table of a demo game I was doing at a con. Speaking of dodgy dice, I've also got a yellow D20 that rolls a 17 every third roll (that no one is allowed to use) – its a big old heavy thing which must have a big air bubble hidden in it. |

I have plenty of dice, although I usually buy a few more each year. Nothing to do with any particular set of rules though. |

I have plenty of dice, trouble is they are all broken and never roll the right numbers! |

Dice are usually pretty cheap so it is good to "refresh" (sensitive euphemism) them. Don't like it when my opponent has illegible dice because he has worn them down or bought strange ones. matin |

A, for me, which I hadn't even realized. It's just something that happens. I'll be looking at stuff in or a store or online, see some dice, and think "they'd be great!" and buy them. Never thought about it, but I do have separate dice for each game system. Kind of funny now that I think about it! |

Once in a while. When we got big into Crossfire, we bought speckled grey and green dice for axis and allies respectively, but mostly we just stick with what we got. If we're at the game store and I don't find anything else I want, I usually get a few more dice. They help replace the ones that disappear under the couch. |

What is it with the dice fetish in this hobby? I don't know, but I've definitely got it. I want new dice for a new game (mostly for RPGs, I don't know why). So I definitely have to answer "A". Ron |

Dice are usually pretty cheap so it is good to "refresh" (sensitive euphemism) them. Bought two sets off you at Warfare last year for use in the FoG:R competition: green-with-yellow-spots still in use, and generally ok, albeit with an annoyingly frequent tendency to roll hordes of 3s when I'm hitting on 4-6 and re-rolling 1 and 2; and red-with-black-spots used for the first 5 turns of my first game, after which I seriously thought of returning them to you as the rolls were so bloody awful. Three superior cuirassier units routed and autobroken by average medium foot in the open I swear if my opponent had said "Well, I certainly never expected to win THAT one!!!" once more, I would have thrown them at him. |

I have tons of dice of all shapes, colors & sizes, but occasionally buy new ones to suit a theme. Usually once a year from the Chessex booth. Little things like that add a lot to our enjoyment of a game. |
