I've recently got in to wargaming and I'm looking to build up some terrain/scenery.

I like the Battlefront roads/rivers but they are a little expensive. To that end, can anyone suggest a good source for roads and rivers for 15mm/20mm please? UK stores only

Thank you

Fat Frank on ebay. Brilliant product, great price.

Yes I've seen Fat Frank's terrain

I assume you've bought his stuff?

Those look kind of nice….

They do look nice, and very reasonably priced as well

Not sure a 50mm river width is wide enough for a 15mm game though. It looks very narrow, so I've asked the designer to make them 60mm for me (he does custom terrain too).

Thanks Crispy.

Yep, that's the one.

I ordered some river sections off him earlier today, and he even makes them to any personal modifications you might want.

Very good service

For the record, if you order off him, you now get 4 river sections instead of 3 too.

The rivers turned up yesterday and they look good. I think I'll need to use a sealant on some of the edged flocking, but aside from that, I'm quite happy and I'd recommend him too.

Should I use 1 part pva and 3 parts water for the sealant?

I can recommend his dirt roads.

@ N Drury

I think they'll be my next purchase off him

I'll second Fat frank, he has made most of the roads and rivers for our club, good price, good service.

Thanks for the pointer to Fat Frank, I didn't know about him. I just asked him for a big order of dirt roads.

Just ordered some 6mm/10mm roads myself

The roads turned up yesterday and I can highly recommend them. Very good and very fairly priced too.

This week I received my large shipment of custom FatFrank dirt roads. A few notes:

  • The Royal Mail service damaged the shipment and returned it to him. He took care of everything without any effort on my part, and only a short note to explain the delay.
  • Great service. He even threw in extra shapes and sizes of road I didn't order, because, well, I don't know why, but that was really nice.
  • From the pictures I expected cast latex, but they seem to be sliced up rubber backing with paint and flocking applied. They aren't quite as flexible as I was expecting. They'll probably conform to my hills, but sharp ridges may be an issue.
  • Hard to beat the prices for gaming terrain that comes ready to play with right out of the box.

In summary, add my name to the list of people who recommend FatFrank on eBay.

I found some road segments from an old "Dark Future" game set that I think might be useful for Team Yankee scenarios.
