On Friday I got an email that a good friend of mine had passed away. Since I had only seen him two weeks earlier, it was a bit of a shocker.

To get myself out of my funk, yesterday I decided to purchase Warlord plastic German Grenaders. I like the sculpting of their plastics and especially the facial expressions! I opened them up today and noticed they were Russian sprues!! UUgghh…. I figured I'd paint them up anyway and give them to Santa Moe for the Toys for Tots auction he runs every year. I looked at all the sprues – I saw bodies, arms, legs and heads – but no weapons!! What the heck!!! I called the hobby store that I purchased them from and – of course – I purchased the last box of German Grenadiers.

Needless to say, I sent Warlord Games an email expressing my displeasure.

Let's hope tomorrow is a better day!! I'm off to prepare a nice Valentines Day dinner for my wonderful family.

Sadly another example of Warlord's poor quality control. When you finally get the right figures leave off the Stgw 44s as they are grossly out of scale – they are the same size as the Mg 42s when they should be 3/4 the size!

Had this happen to me as well. I received German Infantry in my plastic U.S. Marines order. They fixed the problem promptly and received the proper order, plus, got to keep the plastic German Infantry they sent me. Bonus for me.

Sad that you received no solace from Warlord.

Warlord's quality contro is epic. Just like the spelling in this message, I have received so many orders with missing items or otherwise fouled up product like the ones mentined above. It is almost as if they try to screw up their quality. Yes, they will make it right, but it is still a hassle and nuisance that I would rather avoid with a correct order.

I still order from them since they eventually make it right, but I recommend never ordering from Warlord if you have any time requirements to meet.

Thanks for the well wishes. My friend enjoyed playing WWII Germans so I thought it would be a nice tribute. I guess Warlord had different plans. Talking about this helps me to laugh. Thanks everyone.

Send an email to Warlord. They will make it right. I had a similar experience once with Scottish ECW figures with no metal bonnets. They solved the issue immediately.

Sorry to hear about your friend. As far as the figures go, I agree with Bowman. I had a problem with a box of figures being shy one sprue and Warlord made it good. As far as I'm concerned they are top notch.

My condolences on the loss of your friend. Something as small as these figure screw ups, when added to something as a big as a loss like this, can really send you postal.

I can agree with the above though. A single email to Warlord and I had a new box of figures mailed to me in Thailand, arrived a week later. They do know of their QA/QC problems and are trying to get them under control. In the mean time their complaints hot line are quick to resolve issues.

What? Wait you had Russian sprues in a German box? (and even then you didn't get the right sprues to build the wrong soldiers?)

That is appalling. Really a company like Warlord should not be letting that happen. It's all very well fixing the issue after the fact but that's an issue that shouldn't even happen. Has warlord moved production and packing to china by any chance?

Anytime I've had an issue with Warlords, ie: wrong items, missing parts, etc., they have made it right and quickly.

A very good company to do business with.

I am so very sorry to hear about your friends passing; I am also sorry that in your time of need you were met with a mispacked box of German Grenadiers. Unfortunately there is quite a historical bad batch that went out to numerous trade accounts a long time ago but it's hard to believe there was still one sat on the shelves.

I'd like to sort this issue out for you by providing you with a replacement box; I will quality check it personally to make sure everything is up to standard, then send it out to you straight away so you wont have to wait around.

On top of that I'd like to include 2 soviet weapon sprues for free with your replacement Grenadiers. This should be enough to arm the Soviets you have received by accident.

I hope I can help redeem ourselves, even if just a little bit, in your eyes.

Email sent Harry. Thank you for being so understanding. When I first opened the box, I was upset. Then after I sent off the email to Warlord, I could only sit there and laugh. This stuff only happens to me. I guess this was the Good Lord's way of getting me to laugh.

To bring this story to a close… I got my parcel from Warlord Games today with the weapons sprue and the correct German Grenadiers. Thank you!!

Warlord Games treated me very well. They made me feel like they appreciate my business. Warlord Games, you have made a loyal customer!!

Warlords is one of the better companies for taking care of it's customers.

Their manufactureres on the other hand……..

Every time I have had an issue they took care of it quickly and properly the first time.
