Bought some great 15mm medium/large size adobes from Scale Creep (thanks to TMP and Scale Creep) but looking for some smaller single structures to house the peons of a pueblo. Suggestions appreciated. Let me reiterate that this is for 15mm or 18mm, not 28mm or 25mm or 10mm or 6mm – not that it will keep people from insisting on posting links to such… |

If you can find them on Ebay I very much recommend SNAP DRAGON 15mm Mexican hovels. Really nice. martin

Wow, those Snapdragon buildings are nice, and there are a few adobe offerings: link |

Sadly, closed down some time ago so, as Martin says, EBay is likely to be your only chance these days. |

Wow for me too! Those Snapdragon adobe buildings are exactly what I want. Those deserve to be in production. Like Mute Bystander, I'm also looking for small Mexican adobe buildings. So far no luck. - Ix |

The only adobe items in 15mm scale I've found so far: TSS has a range of adobe buildings that are listed in the Maximilian War range as Maximilian Scenics. Not to my taste so I haven't ordered any. They look a bit on the large side for my needs too. JR Miniatures has some buildings listed in their Middle Eastern and Old West ranges, some of which might be repurposed to Mexican scenery. Hovels has a small Middle East range which includes a few buildings that would work. I can't tell how big they are, but if the doors are actually 15mm tall, those are all a bit outsized for my purposes. Musket Miniatures used to have a range of Mexican buildings (probably for Mex-Am War?), but of course those are at least temporarily unavailable, so for now they're another thing to look for on eBay. - Ix |

It might also be worth looking for adobe buildings in 10mm scale, and maybe N scale model railroading. I prefer my terrain to follow the "one scale down" principle, so most of my 15mm ACW/AWI buildings are approximately N scale/10mm. If anyone knows of any ranges that would work, please say so. - Ix |

On this hunt myself – and they are hard to find, especially for the US desert southwest which I suspect is your hunt as well since you refer to peons. I may fall back on scratch building. |

While no longer in production, if you're scouring ebay – add "Crescent Root Studios" to your searches. They used to do wonderful 15mm resin pre-painted adobe buildings/sets. He has since switched over to some excellent pre-painted MDF stuff and still has a 15mm line, though it's likely too Middle East for what you're looking for: link |

I just found another range of 15mm buildings by The Art of Wargaming that might serve this purpose. The photos in the gallery seem to show they are true to scale (e.g. doorways and windows are actually scaled to the figures), and since many have removable roofs they are clearly meant for skirmishy gaming. However, there are a few very small adobe buildings in the range:
And some of the larger clusters are composed of small buildings, like this one:
And this one:
I've read that peaked roofs were rare enough to be remarkable in Mexico in the 19th C., but surely the many Spanish settlers must have brought Mediterranean architecture with them. There's quite a lot of Spanish-style tiled roofs across the American Southwest, some of them on old buildings like missions, so I can accept some in Mexico as well. The Mediterranean range from Series 2 seem to be on the small side:

Aren't those Art of Wargaming buildings the ones from Crescent Root? Sure look like it to my eye. I was much disappointed that he abandoned resin for MDF. Lost a customer. |
